In a dramatic change of policy, just hours after levies against roughly 60 of America's trading partners came into effect, US President Donald Trump made a tariff u-turn.
Trump authorised a 90-day pause in the higher tariffs for most countries he announced last week - while maintaining a 10% baseline tariff across the board.
But at the same time,Trump raised tariff rates on China to 125% after Beijing imposed additional retaliatory tariffs on US goods.
