China has urged an end to "illegal" sanctions on Iran.
In a joint statement issued after talks with Iran in Beijing, China and Russia has also said that they welcomed Iran's reiteration that its nuclear programme was exclusively for peaceful purposes, and that Tehran's right to peaceful uses of nuclear energy should be "fully" respected.
This comes just days after US President Donald Trump said there were two ways to handle Iran: by striking a deal or “militarily.”
