South Korea's Asiana Airlines has stopped selling some emergency exit row seats, after a passenger opened an emergency exit door mid-air, causing shock and panic on board.
Doug Drury, Professor for Aviation at the Central Queensland University’s School of Engineering and Technology weighs in on whether current protocols for activating emergency doors are sufficient and what can be done to ensure better safety on-board. He has about 40 years of experience in the aviation industry, with over two decades of experience flying military, commercial, private charter, and emergency medical operations.
