Did you know that households waste over 1 billion meals worth of edible food every day, the equivalent of 1.3 meals every day for everyone in the world affected by hunger. In fact, according to the UN, about 13.2 percent of food produced is lost between harvest and retail.
In line with Singapore’s 30 by 30 food sustainability goal, one startup in Singapore is giving food waste a second lease of life. Through its solution called WasteMaster - an on-site food waste processing system - Life Lab Resources converts the waste food into valuable feed resources.
On this episode of 2024 OCBC Emerging Enterprise, Edward Chia, Managing Director, Life Lab Resources, the only company in Singapore that has the technology and regulatory approvals to convert mixed food waste into aquaculture feed. It is also the Winner of the 2024 Most Promising Sustainability Startup Award!
