It was an emotional ride for President Halimah Yacob, who presided over Singapore's 58th birthday bash at the Padang on 9th August 2023 - her last National Day Parade as head of state.

Mdm Halimah, whose six-year term ends on 13th September 2023, is Singapore's first female president. She assumed the position in 2017 after becoming the only candidate to receive a Certificate of Eligibility in the reserved election for members of the Malay community.
