More ideas have been laid out to revive the Singapore Exchange by market regulators, as part of the ongoing bid by the Equities Market Review Group to attract IPOs and boost investor interest. Among these, the MAS is proposing for disclosure requirements to be simplified to make the listing process easier and help firms provide more relevant information to investors. Mak Yuen Teen, founding director of the Centre for Investor Protection and Professor (Practice) of Accounting at the NUS Business School weighs the pros and cons of the proposals.
