Harry and Meghan’s latest Hollywood project has been beaten at the box office by… 70 minutes of viral cat videos.
Their documentary Cookie Queens, which follows four Girl Scouts competing in the world of cookie sales, made around US$354,000 across 446 cinemas over its opening weekend. Meanwhile, CatVideoFest 2026 — a compilation of internet cat clips — pulled in about US$569,000 from just 255 cinemas.
On What's Trending, Hongbin Jeong, Nadiah Koh and Nazirul Asrar look beyond the cats and ask whether celebrity power alone is still enough to sell a Hollywood project.
