There's a verse in Psalm 23 that stopped me in my tracks this week. 🌿

A Prayer for Goodness & Mercy to Follow by Nicolet Bell
David doesn't write if I walk through the valley. He doesn't write maybe. He writes even though — when.
Our kids will face hard things. Things we can't protect them from, no matter how much we try. But Psalm 23 gives me so much comfort as a praying mom: even when they walk through the valley, they are never alone. God is right there with them — his rod, his staff, his presence. That's what I'm praying over my kids today. That they would know, deep in their bones: I am not alone.
Reference: Psalm 23
Prayer: Father, may my children notice and experience you in nature, and bring you praise and honor as a result. When we go outside this summer, may we see you. May I point you out to my children, and may they experience you in your world that you've created. May they delight in your word, in your law. Father, may they desire it more than they desire the finest things in this world. May they desire you more than they desire anything else. Help me to point them to you again and again. And Father, may the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing and acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer. In Jesus' name, amen.
