aveyton was recently given a taste of what can happen when creativity meets opportunity. The Thrift Flip Roadshow brought young people together around fashion, upcycling, technology, gaming, robotics and performance — creating a space where they could not only have fun, but discover skills and possibilities they may not have considered before. But an event can only go so far. The real impact is what young people do with that inspiration once the day is over. Today, we’re speaking to Melanie Brummer, founder of the Up-Cycled Cloth Collective, about the opportunities this initiative hopes to unlock and what comes next for the young people of Daveyton.
