Valuable Fertilizer Is Result Of Water Treatment

View descriptionShare

Metrogro is the treated, solid material collected as part of Madison Metropolitan Sewerage District's wastewater stream. Metrogro biosolids contain organic material and nutrients that are recycled to farmland as a valuable fertilizer -- free of charge to the farmer! Watershed Program Coordinator Kim Meyer and Communications Manager Amanda Wagner share more about the Metrogro program and what it takes to treat the water in the Dane County region. Meyer also talks about how you can take advantage of dollars within the Yahara WINS program, an initiative to help achieve clean water goals for the Yahara Watershed.
