Potential Record Low Calf Crop Has Market Talking - John Hineberg

View descriptionShare

Now's the time to start researching and selecting farm partners you might like to work with this year to provide you with fresh produce.  CSA's or Community Supported Agriculture operations dot the state.  Right now, they're making plans for production this year.  Charitee Seebecker talks to Sam Tilton with the CSA Coalition about all the work going on behind the scenes.

Consumers are already making changes in what items they're purchasing - and that includes food.  Stephanie Hoff visits with Brandon Scholz, executive director of the WI Grocer's Association about how stores are trying to keep flexing despite continued supply chain issues.

USDA's Ag Census is due back by February 6th.  Greg Bussler, WI Ag Statistician explains why the data gathered is so important, and reminds farms that USDA will pursue them until they get that data.

John Hineberg with Total Farm Marketing joins Pam Jahnke to chat about the latest projections on today's cattle report. Hineberg says this could verify a record low calf crop in the United States.  High prices in Chicago but a looming circle over all of the cattle industry while consumer demand and international interest in U.S. beef remains firm.
