Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation now has an agreement with Great Lakes Ag Labor Service to offer a member benefit, explains GLALS General Manager Sarah Black.

The company helps farmers utilize the federal H-2A Temporary Agricultural Employment of Foreign Workers program to bring in workers from other countries who have the necessary skills.

GLALS can now offer WFBF members assistance with application filing, worker recruitment, worker scheduling, and virtual worker orientation and onboarding.

New WFBF Benefit Can Help You Navigate H-2A

Why settle for a typical classroom pet when you can adopt a cow for free? Say goodbye to the guinea pig and hello to a 100-pound dairy calf as your new classroom mascot through the Adopt-A-Cow program. 

Dairy Farmers of Wisconsin and Discover Dairy are thrilled to announce the return of the Adopt-A-Cow program. This engaging initiative offers classrooms the chance to "adopt" a cow from three participating farms. Best of all, it's completely free.

The program runs from October to May. During this time, students receive monthly updates about their adopted cow. These updates include photos, stories, and also videos.

Schools, daycare centers, preschools, as well as other educational organizations interested in participating can sign up by September 15.

We’re kicking off the fall ag-venture season here in Wisconsin, and what better way to do that than at a pumpkin patch? Today we head to a celebration in Bonduel called Farmtoberfest at Porter’s Patch. Troy Porter is our guest today who is gearing up for opening day on Sep. 20. He’s harvesting pumpkins now, and says he's happy with this year's crop. They raise 55 varieties. He’s also walked through their 2025 Draft-themed corn maze! He invites families and fall fanatics out to enjoy the colorful season at the farm. Enter the Corn Maze Challenge by tagging your maze photos on Facebook with #WATAMaze for a chance to win prizes. Porter's Patch Happy With Pumpkins & Draft-Themed Corn Maze

The largest beef producer in Alaska markets about 600 animals a year.  Scott Mugrage from Delta Junction tells Pam Jahnke that he'd love to market more animals but Alaska's infrastructure for processing just doesn't exist.
Four finalists have been named for the 2024 WI Leopold Conservation Award.  Bartling's Manitowish Cranberry; Full Circle Farm; Joe Hovel of Conover and Glacial Lake Cranberries were selected.
Wisconsin's bear hunting season is underway and what many people may not realize is that the state has a very healthy bear population. Ben Jarboe talks to large carnivore specialist, Randy Johnson, from the DNR.
Colorado livestock is alarmed about a new ballot initiative that's showing up in Denver that would outlaw slaughter.  Lori Boyer explains the details.
Tari Costello's been named the new WI State FFA Alumni & Supporters Exec. Director.Jenny Wackershauser joins Pam Jahnke from EverAg.  Cheese prices have continued to climb and Jenny explains where the momentum's coming from.
