County highway officials are monitoring the roads to know when to post and when to lift road restrictions. Ashland County Highway Commissioner Matt Erickson says the dead of winter is the time to move your heaviest loads before things start thawing out. He also reminds farmers there are opportunities to get a heavy load permit once road restrictions are in place. And remember, the fines can be costly.

Ashley VandenBush didn’t grow up on a farm. But she’s helping her Green Bay students discover where their food comes from through cows, chickens, cheese, and hands-on agriculture lessons.

The third grade teacher tells Teri Barr how it started with her own interest in learning more about Wisconsin agriculture. And as she welcomes a new group of students to school, you may be surprised to find out why they are excited about learning more, too.
