A long-awaited farm bill has cleared a major legislative hurdle. The U.S. Senate Agriculture Committee advanced the Farm, Food, and National Security Act of 2026 in a 12-11 vote. This action pushes the legislation, known as Farm Bill 2.0, to the full Senate. Paul Jarvis is a Wautoma farmer and president of the Wisconsin Corn Growers Association.
