H5N1 Not Slowing World Dairy Expo Cattle

View descriptionShare

World Dairy Expo begins next week in the shadow of H5N1 in dairy animals outside Wisconsin.  How's the show handling biosecurity and co-mingling of animals?  Pam Jahnke talks to WDE General Manager, Laura Herschleb, about animal numbers entered for the show, and some of the planned highlights visitors will experience.

Dr. Brent Tharp, Technical Product Manager with Wyffels Hybrids catches up with Pam Jahnke on some of the weather challenges that are being revealed in the harvest this year.  Tharp says it's important growers prioritize fields during the harvest so that the crop doesn't start tipping over.  Paid for by Wyffels Hybrids.

Sara Stelter, president of the WI Soybean Association, reminds parents that while the kids are passing farm fields on the bus, some of those fields products are following them into the classroom.

Wet weather this spring has escalated the number of acres that were prevented from planting.  That's meant a lot of paperwork for the state's crop insurance providers and adjusters.  Stephanie Hoff gets some of the details and numbers from Jessica Sarbacher, vice president and crop insurance manager for Lake Ridge Bank.
