The Wisconsin Dells FFA Alumni & Supporters are hosting a Farm to Fork Breakfast Fundraiser on Saturday, June 3rd from 8am to 12pm. There will be farm tours, animals,and activities for the kids and adults alike. Chris Davis, Wisconsin Dells FFA Alumni Member says this breakfast highlights community businesses and Wisconsin agriculture. He explains more about how they're working to connect consumers to agriculture through breakfast but with other community partnerships.

The breakfast is taking place at the Wisconsin Dells High School (1501 Brew Farm Rd, Wisconsin Dells, WI 53965) and is $10. Attendees can enjoy breakfast, School District farm tours, animals, kids activities, tractor rides, tractor/cash raffle, 4-H ice cream and a tractor/car show.

Davis says, “Bring the family and check out the new school and the agriscience department’s Brew Farm project that includes gardens, animals, hydroponics and more.”

Wisconsin farms and rural landowners need to slow down and pay attention to lengthy agreements they're being offered for the land and solar development.  Bill Oemichen, Law Professor for UW-Extension says some of these agreements can be 10-14 pages in length, full of details you'll have to live with.  Stephanie Hoff leads us through some of the top items to look for.

Blain's Farm & Fleet just opened a new option for farms to gain access to pharmaceuticals they need.  Animal RX.  Chris Ramos with Blain's Animal RX explains what changed with the FDA that made it possible for Blain's to step in and fill the need.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has announced a significant regulatory change affecting certain over-the-counter animal medications, prompting a shift towards prescription-only status. This decision, aimed at enhancing oversight and safety, particularly impacts medications commonly used by farmers and horse owners, such as oxytetracycline.

Oxytetracycline, previously as accessible as ibuprofen for farmers, has now become subject to the prescription-only rule, highlighting the need for alternative solutions and streamlined processes in veterinary care.

The transition to prescription status has raised concerns among farmers and animal owners regarding the purchasing process, especially during critical periods like calving season.

“This regulatory change underscores the importance of accessible and efficient means for obtaining necessary medications for farm animals and pets,” explains Chris Ramos, public relations and events coordinator for Blain’s Farm and Fleet.

In response to these challenges, various entities in the agricultural community have stepped in to address the evolving needs of farmers and pet owners. Among them, Blain's Farm and Fleet has initiated efforts to support its customer base through the implementation of the Animal Rx program.

First, she tells me about the association and how she cares for these gentle giants -- weighing a ton each -- at her farm in Columbus.
