Cristi & Phillip Statz- Century Farm, Eau Claire County

View descriptionShare

Legacy Hill Acres has been around since 1921 and was started when Phillip Statz's Great grandpa and grandma moved from Sun Prairie to the farm. Where they raised 15 children on the farm.

Electricity was not present on the farm when they moved. And Elizabeth Statz was promised electricity, but didn't get it until 15 years later. Currently they have 117 acres of the farm are enrolled in the CRP program for Monarch butterflies. And are now starting a cut flower farm.

The farm started off as a dairy farm and was until 1994 and sold the cows. They were renting until 2008 and then enrolled in the CRP program. This was a dream of Phillips's mom but she unfortunately passed before the idea came to life.

Now they enjoy the company of the butterflies and the thriving land.
