The 2025 L’Ormarins King’s Plate is set to be one of the most exciting race days to date. The event is scheduled for Saturday, January 4th, at the renowned Hollywoodbets Kenilworth racetrack, and is celebrated for its distinguished horse racing and elegant ambiance. 

Recognized as one of the most anticipated social events of the Cape summer season, the L’Ormarins King’s Plate (LKP) marks the first Gr 1 feature race of the New Year. Named after the original silver plate awarded by Queen Victoria to the winner of the race’s inaugural running in 1861, this event continues to uphold a rich tradition.
