Zain Johnson speaks to Carmen Stevens (one of SA’s first winemakers of colour) who in 2011 she established the Carmen Stevens Foundation. Through this foundation, Stevens provides food to children at schools in eleven communities in the Western Cape, which include Kraaifontein, Belhar and Elsies River. The initiative employs 42 women who prepare the food providing over 25 000 learners from 125 schools in the Western Cape with a nutritious breakfast and lunch.
