‘Views and News with Clarence Ford’ shares and reflects a broad array of different perspectives. The show is inspirational, passionate and positive. Clarence and the team aim to leave listeners feeling both motivated and empowered.

Known for his love of jazz and a good game of golf, Clarrie brings his unique flavour to this show. Some new features include ‘Heritage Hour’ every Wednesday between 10 and 11 am, The Masterclass on Fridays at 11 am as well as a segment exploring music trivia. Another new addition is ‘The Unexplained’ segment on Mondays at 10:35. Fan favourite ‘The Naked Scientist’ will continue on Fridays at 9:30 am.

Zain Johnson speaks to Carmen Stevens (one of SA’s first winemakers of colour) who in 2011 she established the Carmen Stevens Foundation. Through this foundation, Stevens provides food to children at schools in eleven communities in the Western Cape, which include Kraaifontein, Belhar and Elsies River. The initiative employs 42 women who prepare the food providing over 25 000 learners from 125 schools in the Western Cape with a nutritious breakfast and lunch.

In light of the upcoming elections, the significance of the youth vote cannot be overstated. With close to 28 million South Africans registered to vote, a substantial portion are young people, particularly young women, whose voices are crucial as we look towards shaping the future of our constitutional democracy. The New LoveLife Trust (loveLife) has been a pivotal force for nearly twenty-five years, empowering young individuals to initiate change within their communities.

The Crucial Youth Vote

The City of Cape Town has spent approximately R65 million on the construction of a new public transport interchange (PTI) in Somerset West. The new PTI is located on two different sites in the Somerset West CBD, one behind the Town Hall and another on the Shoprite side. Together, the facility is approximately 4 000m² in size to accommodate minibus-taxi operators, bus services, informal traders, and thousands of commuters. According to the COCT, the facility is complete with the contractor attending to final snags. If all goes as planned, commuters and operators will be able to use the PTI by June, before the worst of winter arrives City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Urban Mobility, Councillor Rob Quintas, visited the area and gives us feedback now
