Cape Town Mayor Geordin Hill-Lewis has welcomed the formal recognition of Muslim marriages on official Home Affairs certificates. Mayor Hill-Lewis further encouraged all residents who are interested in obtaining these certificates retrospectively to contact home affairs for a reprint of their marriage certificates.
