π‘πΊπΈ ICYMI: Frederick County Board of Education Candidate Casey Day Joins Tim May LIVE at The Great Frederick Fair
Tim May is broadcasting from The Great Frederick Fair, sitting down with candidates from across Frederick County and giving them the opportunity to introduce themselves, discuss the issues and let listeners hear directly from them.
This time, Tim welcomed Casey Day, candidate for an at-large seat on the Frederick County Board of Education, to talk about why she's running and her priorities for Frederick County Public Schools.
Day brings more than 30 years of experience as a public school educator to her campaign. She tells Tim how that experience has shaped her approach to education and what she believes students, teachers and families need from the school system.
Among her priorities is equal access to educational opportunities, including advanced coursework, STEM, Fine Arts, JROTC and Career and Technology Education programs. Day also discusses reducing transportation and scheduling barriers that can make it difficult for students at smaller schools to access specialized programs.
The conversation also focuses on student support, including early math and literacy skills, early screening and intervention for students with dyslexia, appropriate staffing for special education and maintaining safe, well-supervised schools.
ποΈ Hear Casey Day explain why she's running, how her three decades in public education have shaped her campaign and what she would prioritize as a member of the Frederick County Board of Education.
