More than 1,000 children have died of severe malnutrition in the past two years in South Africa – this was revealed by Minister of health Dr Aaron Motsoaledi in a response to parliament. Last year it was revealed that 12,582 children had died from severe acute malnutrition and moderate acute malnutrition since 2013.
