There's growing calls to implement price controls on alcohol sold at off-licence stores to boost the hospitality industry and reduce the negative impacts of alcohol harm.

Experts say a significant percentage of alcohol consumed in New Zealand is purchased at an off-licence and consumed in the home, where there's more room for harm.

Caller Sam says it's not fair that off- and on-licence businesses are expected to pay the same levies.

The pork industry is calling for more clarity around 'country of origin' labelling when it comes to their products, but the Government won't make any changes.

Plenty of Kiwi shoppers think they're buying locally sourced bacon, pork, or ham - but that's often not the case.

NZPork chief executive Brent Kleiss says these products can be labelled, but it's often on the back of the packaging in small lettering and the rest of the marketing can be misleading.

"What we'd really like to see is a bit of a change to make it much easier for consumers to know where their bacon and ham that they're purchasing actually comes from."
