The pork industry is calling for more clarity around 'country of origin' labelling when it comes to their products, but the Government won't make any changes.
Plenty of Kiwi shoppers think they're buying locally sourced bacon, pork, or ham - but that's often not the case.
NZPork chief executive Brent Kleiss says these products can be labelled, but it's often on the back of the packaging in small lettering and the rest of the marketing can be misleading.
"What we'd really like to see is a bit of a change to make it much easier for consumers to know where their bacon and ham that they're purchasing actually comes from."
