Industry experts have voiced their surprise after the Reserve Bank Governor abruptly resigned today.  

Adrian Orr was almost halfway through his second five-year term.

Infometrics Principal Economist Brad Olsen joined the Afternoons team to speculate about what could have caused this.

The pork industry is calling for more clarity around 'country of origin' labelling when it comes to their products, but the Government won't make any changes.

Plenty of Kiwi shoppers think they're buying locally sourced bacon, pork, or ham - but that's often not the case.

NZPork chief executive Brent Kleiss says these products can be labelled, but it's often on the back of the packaging in small lettering and the rest of the marketing can be misleading.

"What we'd really like to see is a bit of a change to make it much easier for consumers to know where their bacon and ham that they're purchasing actually comes from."
