Hosted by announcer Hisanori Yoshida, Manga Radio is a special interview series featuring some of Japan’s most exciting manga creators.

For October 2026, we’re bringing you highlights from a live recording event featuring Kappy, creator of Hidarikiki no Eren (Left-Handed Eren) and Otona Taisen (Adult Wars).

In Part 2 of this four-part series, Kappy takes us back to his high school years—where an unexpected surprise after entering high school ultimately helped him discover the path that would lead to where he is today.

He also opens up about his university years, when he was fully focused on landing a job at a major advertising agency and building the career he had envisioned for himself.

What twists and turns shaped the creator Kappy would eventually become?

We’d love to hear what you think!
