Hi Makan Kakis, this is a hidden gem in the true sense of the word - tucked away in the basement of a building perhaps better known now for its learning centres. Not far from Newton is Balmoral Plaza along Bukit Timah Road, where you'll find Shanghai Pudong Kitchen, an institution that's been serving up tasty dishes like dumplings, drunken chicken and fresh fish for more than two decades now. With thanks to Chef Ming Tan for this recommendation!

Our new Makan Kaki, Mr Onigiri's founder Marvin Fam, highly recommends this breakfast joint located conveniently near where he lives in Seng Kang. But it's not just convenience that keeps him going back almost daily - Happy Go Nasi sees consistently long queues for their delicious economy bee hoon and rice with dishes. Be sure to add lots of sambal for a satisfying meal!
