The National Treasury will implement the Two-Pot retirement system on Sunday, allowing employees to access some of their retirement funds during their working years. Sanlam's Benchmark 2024 research, called Accelerating A Better Working South Africa, shows the number of individuals planning to "cash out" funds through this amendment has jumped significantly, from 31% in 2022 to 59% in 2024. As the deadline looms, concerns have been raised regarding tax implications of the new system. Head of Technical Support at Sanlam's Glacier Investments, Annalise De Meillon Muller spoke to Newsbreak's Tashlan Naidoo about some of the more frequently asked questions relating to tax implications
