by Newsbreak Producer, Hoosen Ebrahim -  As the dispute over the National health insurance (NHI) continues with the public health system severely burdened, homoeopathic practitioners claim that natural remedies made from plant, mineral or animal sources could be a solution to bridge the health gap. Dr Shamini Kara is a Homeopath at Juniper Healing. She told Newsbreak that there is an untapped opportunity to improve primary health care delivery right in front of us, currently incorporated in other BRICS country's like India, Russia and Brazil. The major difference between a general medical practitioner and a homoeopathic practitioner is the type of medicine prescribed; as opposed to orthodox medicines, homoeopathic practitioners prescribe only homoeopathic medicines. Dr Kara explains how integrating traditional and complementary medicine into the mainstream healthcare system can enhance primary healthcare delivery and lesson the burden on the severely strained public facilities
