By Newsbreak Producer Tashlan Naidoo - Non-profit organisation, Gun Free South Africa (GFSA) says gun violence in the country has reached crisis level. This was in reaction to the recent spate of shootouts between armed criminals and police officers which has seen the recovery of high-caliber weapons. In the most recent incident following a cash-in-transit robbery in the Western Cape on Monday, police say seven AK 47 rifles, two R-5 rifles, one R-4 rifle, two pistols and three explosive charges were found in the possession of the suspects. Scores of guns have also been recovered in KwaZulu-Natal over the last few months following shootouts between police and criminals.
