By Newsbreak Executive Producer, Salma Patel - The first Consul-General of India in Durban, Ambassador Latha Reddy, has passed away. Ambassador Reddy was responsible for re-restablishing socio-economic ties between India and South Africa after the significant 1994 democratic dispensation. Ambassador Reddy had to lay the foundation for a good working relationship between the two countries which also helped establish programmes for locals to gain valuable education, visitation and learnership opportunities in India. Commissioner Dr Rajendran Govender of the CRL Commission worked closely with Ambassador Reddy and her team and says she was a very passionate diplomat who helped develop programmes that benefit South Africans to this day.......
