Local councillor in the Mandeni Municipality Kuben Naicker says the seven family members that were found brutally murdered were major contributors to the Newark community, north of KwaZulu-Natal. He says that the Monswamy family ran a construction business that helped many people. The bodies of the seven family members were found dumped in Melmoth. Three suspects have been arrested in connection with the grisly crime. It is alleged that the trio kidnapped the victims from a house on Tuesday and later killed them that night. Police have established that one of the suspects worked for the family. The victims are aged between 20 and 83.
