The National Learner Transport Policy has come under scrutiny- after 14 learners were killed in a horrific crash involving their scholar transport vehicle and a truck. Ayanda Dludla has been charged with 14 counts of murder following the crash- after he allegedly overtook several vehicles and crashed into an oncoming truck. This week Transport Minister Barbara Creecy indicated that her department was in the final stages of reviewing the National Learner Transport Policy. Meanwhile scholar transport services were faulted in Gauteng yesterday after the industry accused government of failing to address the sectors' concerns adequately.
