By Newsbreak Senior Producer Taresh Harreeparshad - South African Muslim Network (SAMNET) says that while the Quran does not endorse same-sex relations - it does not give anyone permission to kill those who are homosexual. This comes after the murder of South Africa's first openly gay Imam Muhsin Hendricks. Hendricks was gunned down at the weekend in Gqeberha in the Eastern Cape- in what is believed to be a hate crime. The Imam- or Islamic prayer leader- ran a LGBTQ+ friendly mosque in Cape Town. He was believed to be in Gqeberha to preside over a same-sex marriage.
