By Producer, Sareshen Pillay - Hundreds of residents and activists from Clairwood south of Durban are currently picketing outside the eThekwini Municipalities town planning office in Durban, to object the City's proposition to rezone the area and create a logistics park. This comes as the Municipality continues with its 2014 resolution for the Local Area Plan, which seeks to turn the once residential area, into an industrial hub. The move has sparked criticism as many claim Clairwood is a historic residential area. But the Municpality contends that 95% of the people that own land in Clairwood don't actually live there.
