This morning, residents from the uMgudulu informal settlement blocked the M19 near Reservoir Hills, protesting over the ongoing water supply problems and frequent pipe bursts. This led to the closure of the busy route linking Durban to Pinetown, bringing traffic to a standstill, as community members lit fires and blockaded the road with debris. Ward 23 councillor Alicia Kissoon says months of low pressure and repeated pipe bursts have fueled residents' frustration....

By Newsbreak Producer, Tashlan Naidoo - Bellarmine Mugabe the son of former Zimbabwe President Robert Mugabe, and his co-accused, Tobias Matonhdze have abandoned their bail application. The two are accused of shooting a 23-year-old gardener at the Mugabe residency in Hyde Park, Johannesburg in February. The case has been transferred to the regional court for plea negotiation. The pair appeared at the Alexandra Magistrate Court this morning, on charges of attempted murder, defeating the ends of justice, possession of a firearm and contravening the Immigration Act. SABC reporter, Lerato Makola was at court and brings us an update....
