by Newsbreak Producer, Taliesha Naidoo - A march will be held this Friday at the Durban Promenade to raise awareness of the plight of the African Penguins. This as the African Penguin is at risk of going extinct in the wild within the next 10 years. Environmentalists say the current conservation measures are not enough to ensure their future as an estimated population of less than ten thousand breeding pairs are struggling to survive. The march will take place amidst an ongoing landmark litigation between the Biodiversity Law Centre, working with BirdLife South Africa and SANCCOB, and the Minister of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment.
