By Newsbreak Senior Producer Taresh Harreeparshad - Newly appointed Deputy Minister of Higher Education Yusuf Cassim says South Africans should not allow disruptive elements to divide them. Cassim was sworn into cabinet this week by President Cyril Ramaphosa. But since then- his nationality has come into question from various social media quarters, with some sentiments insulting his religion, his race and his traditional attire. Cassim hails from the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality in the Eastern Cape and is often seen in traditional Islamic attire. But his very identity has come under fire- with some even calling him a foreigner. This comes after the country experienced nationwide demonstrations calling for undocumented foreign nationals to leave South Africa. Cassim says it is an absolute calamity when any South African is treated as if they do not belong...
