The event will take place at the Shri Mariammen Temple Society on Womens Day, the 9th of August 2026. Deokaran was assassinated outside her Johannesburg home in August 2021 after flagging suspicious and irregular tenders linked to the Tembisa Hospital. The councils, Jasmen Chundurduth says they expect around 3000 people to be in attendance at the unveiling next month....

The South African Police Service (SAPS) says they will prepare accordingly should there be marches against illegal immigrants every week.

On Tuesday- during nationwide protests demanding illegal foreigners leave the country-  March and March leader Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma said that they will march every Thursday until all undocumented foreigners have left SA.

About 900 people were arrested by SAPS during 120 marches held across South Africa on Tuesday.

SAPS National Spokesperson Brigadier Athlenda Mathe says at least they have been given a heads up...

By Newsbreak Producer, Tashlan Naidoo - Hundreds of Malawian nationals are stranded outside the decommissioned repatriation site at the old Durban drive-in, saying they have nowhere else to go after being forced to leave their homes. The group includes men, women and children from areas such as Mariannhill, Chatsworth and Phoenix in Durban, as well as the Eastern Cape. The group is appealing to the South African government to provide them with transport to the Musina repatriation centre. They say landlords have told them to leave, fearing intimidation and possible fines for employing undocumented migrants. SABC reporter, Gcinokuhle Malinga has the latest....

By Newsbreak Producer Tashlan Naidoo - The Democratic Alliance are calling for answers, after a video emerged showing South Africa's High Commissioner to India, Anil Sooklal at a meeting between former President Jacob Zuma and Ajay Gupta. The video, supposedly taken at a temple in India is doing the rounds on social media. DA spokesperson for International Relations, Ryan Smith says it is deeply concerning that Sooklal was allegedly part of a meeting that involved Ajay Gupta - who is wanted by South African law enforcement for his role in state capture allegations. Smith says the party has written to Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Ronald Lamola demanding answers...
