The latest engagement, led by Bishop Dalton Adams, is focusing on safety concerns and the impact of the violence on innocent residents, including children and teenagers. Residents are calling for urgent intervention to address the continued shootings and loss of lives. Bishop Adams says a multi-faceted approach is needed to tackle the problem .......

Westbury community convene talks amid escalation of gang-related violence

By Newsbreak Producer Tashlan Naidoo - Residents across the Cape Flats are living in fear, saying mass shootings are becoming an increasingly common occurrence in their communities. 11 people were killed in separate shooting incidents in Langa, Gugulethu and Khayelitsha this weekend, leaving residents deeply concerned about their safety. Police are following up all leads and have offered a 100-thousand-rand reward for information leading to arrests in the Langa and Gugulethu shootings. Deputy Chairperson of the Mitchell's Plain United Residents Association, Norman Jantjies, says the deployment of the army has done little to curb gang violence, while community trust in law enforcement remains extremely low...
