By Newsbreak Producer Hoosen Ebrahim - The Heart and Stroke Foundation South Africa are calling on citizens to reduce their salt intake as part of World Salt Awareness Week. The organization says the country has one of the highest salt consumption rates globally, contributing to rising cases of high blood pressure and heart disease. New data released by the foundation shows that more than one in three South Africans are living with elevated blood pressure, despite many believing their salt intake is normal.
