That's the view of political analyst Prof. Dirk Kotze. Ramaphosa lodged an urgent court application in the Western Cape High Court- seeking to interdict the start of the impeachment process, pending the determination of his review against the section 89 independent panel report. That report is slated to be reviewed in September. You'll remember that the Constitutional Court ruled that Parliament's decision to clear President Ramaphosa of any wrong-doing in the Phala Phala Farm theft matter was flawed- and that an impeachment committee must be set up to review the matter. Prof Kotze explains while the President has the right to interdict the matter- the public could view this as a delaying tactic...

By Newsbreak Producer Hoosen Ebrahim - More than 2,000 displaced Malawian nationals who have been sheltering in the open at Durban's Sherwood Hall playground are now being transported home as buses arrive to begin the repatriation process. The group sought refuge at the site after targeted threats from anti-foreigner groups forced them to flee their communities, leaving vulnerable children and elderly people exposed to harsh winter conditions. Humanitarian organisations, including Gift of the Givers, continue to provide emergency food, blankets and other essential support while authorities coordinate the operation. Spokesperson Bilal Jeewa has the latest from the ground...
