The group sought refuge at the site after targeted threats from anti-foreigner groups forced them to flee their communities, leaving vulnerable children and elderly people exposed to harsh winter conditions. Humanitarian organisations, including Gift of the Givers, continue to provide emergency food, blankets and other essential support while authorities coordinate the operation.
