At least 6 people been killed in a turf war between community members and a notorious gang in Amaoti, in the north of Durban. All six deceased are believed to be residents from the area. The area is close to Inanda where the bodies of five people were discovered hacked to death in a sports field in January. At the time, Inanda residents called for the release of the 12 suspects who police had arrested in connection with the murders, saying that they were working to keep the community safe.
