42-year-old Navin Singh was shot dead as he tried to protect his 78-year-old mother from alleged intruders at his Clare Estate home in Durban. Word on the ground is that this isn't the first time that this family's home was broken into. Crime activists and community members claim the area is experiencing increased levels of crime due to vagrancy and informal dwellings mushrooming in the area. How do you keep crime off your doorstep? Lal Hiralal, PRO for the Clare Estate Rate Payers Association and Vincent Chetty, Chairman of the Clare Estate Action Committee joined us for this conversation- along side the grieving family and concerned officials.
