We cross to the Union Buildings, where President Cyril Ramaphosa is expected to address
the nation on the gender-based violence crisis.
The president's address is much anticipated as the country contends with the scourge of
women being killed. In recent weeks, there has been a sharp focus on Ekurhuleni, where
the bodies of 11 women have been discovered in the last two months.
The focus of President Ramaphosa's address is expected to be on the steps taken by
government to confront Gender-based violence and femicide (GBVF).
