Elaine Ellinger returns to the show to discuss her new book, which reviews grade 1–12 Islamic school curricula and supplementary texts used in English-speaking countries, including the US, UK, Canada, and Australia. Ellinger, who has spent years researching this material, argues that the textbooks present a version of Islamic teaching and history that differs significantly from how it's commonly described to non-Muslim audiences, and walks through specific passages and translations she says support that claim.
Bryce and Elaine also discuss her broader argument, laid out in her previous book, that Islamic law is incompatible with the U.S. Constitution and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and what she believes policymakers should do about it.
