J. Jackson is the lead singer and lyricist for ApologetiX (That Christian Parody Band). He and his wife, Lisa, have four daughters (Janna, Heather, Kelly, and Natalie), one son (T.J.), two son-in-laws (Rob and Max), one dog (Sparky), and two cats (Ozzy and Bongo).
ApologetiX specializes in Biblical parodies of rock and pop hits from yesterday and today, including everything from Elvis to Eminem, AC/DC to ZZ Top, Three Dog Night to Three Doors Down to Three Days Grace, The Beach Boys to The Backstreet Boys to The Beastie Boys and beyond.

It's kind of like "Weird Al" Yankovic meets Billy Graham … with a two-fold mission: to reach the lost and teach the rest. The band takes its name from the word "apologetics," meaning the defense of the Christian faith (1 Peter 3:15).

ApologetiX played its first concert as on March 27, 1992. Although not currently touring, the group is very active in the studio, usually releasing a new CD about every three months. Over the years, ApologetiX has played about 1500 concerts in all 50 states (and Canada) and has released 83 albums.

The 83rd ApologetiX CD, ApologetiX was released in September 2026. It features parodies of 12 hits from 1983.

LET'S TALK GOD THINGS - EP 32 - Jonathan Roe CEO of Venture 1:9

This week on Let’s Talk God Things, there’s no special guest—just David and Denise having a fun, casual conversation together!

After 30 episodes filled with incredible guests, powerful testimonies, inspiring ministries and plenty of “God Things,” David and Denise take some time to look back and reminisce about a few of the memorable moments and people they’ve had the privilege of welcoming to the show. They also give listeners a little peek at some of the exciting guests and conversations coming up.

Along the way, they share more about the heart behind their nonprofit ministry, Blessing Broker, and how God has allowed them to combine ministry, media, relationships and their real estate business in ways they never could have planned themselves.

Whether they’re behind the microphones, serving through their nonprofit, helping someone buy or sell a home, or simply connecting with people along the way, David and Denise share how relationships and serving others remain at the heart of what they do.

This episode is a little lighter, a little more personal, and a whole lot of fun—a chance to get to know David and Denise beyond the guest interviews and hear some of the stories behind the first 30 episodes of Let’s Talk God Things.

And as always, you never know when an ordinary conversation might turn into a God Thing!

Check our BlessingBroker.com or TheHeartandHomesTeam.com for more information.

LET'S TALK GOD THINGS EP 31 - David & Denise Blakeslee

Sandie Zimmerman grew up in a conservative Christian home in a predominantly Catholic and Jewish neighborhood in Philadelphia, where she developed a strong spiritual foundation from an early age. She attended a private Christian academy and was raised in a church that emphasized the biblical importance of Israel, the Jewish people, and the enduring relevance of both the Old and New Testaments.

Those early influences helped shape a lifelong passion for understanding the Hebraic foundations of the Christian faith and helping others discover the rich biblical context that connects the Old and New Testaments.

Sandie is a conference speaker, Bible teacher, and Rebbetzin who, alongside her husband, Rabbi Jack Zimmerman, helped establish and serve Tree of Life Congregation in Phoenix beginning in 2000. Over the course of more than two decades of ministry, Sandie also led the Ruth and Naomi Women’s Ministry, encouraging and equipping women in their faith and understanding of Scripture. She and Rabbi Jack concluded their pastoral leadership at Tree of Life Congregation in 2026.

Her desire to deepen her understanding of the Jewish roots of the Christian faith has led her to participate in numerous conferences and Yeshiva classes through the Messianic Jewish Alliance of America, as well as studies through the Center for Judaic-Christian Studies, where she had the privilege of sitting under the teaching of the late Dwight Pryor.

Sandie is especially passionate about teaching on the Biblical Feasts and their connection to Revelation, the concept of the “Ruth-Like Church,” and the Ancient Jewish Wedding and its powerful biblical imagery. Through these teachings, she brings historical and Hebraic context to Scripture in a way that helps believers see familiar passages with greater depth and understanding.

Sandie and her husband, Rabbi Jack Zimmerman, make their home in Phoenix, Arizona. Together they have three children—Jordan, Ryan, and Casey—and are blessed with four grandsons: Avi, Leo, Eli, and Ira.
