On August 30th the AJA is hosting an exclusive screening of the documentary “Reflections of Courage - the Eddy Boas story, that is based on and is an extension of Eddy's book “I AM NOT A VICTIM, I AM A SURVIVOR”. “Reflections of Courage” was awarded best Australian Documentary at the Melbourne Documentary Film Festival 2025, plus best feature documentary honours at Cannes, along with many other major awards at many major film festivals around the world. Eddy gives us an overview of his family surviving the Nazi concentration camps intact which is an absolute rarity, and then going on to make a new life in Australia. Shane Shmuel talks about the AJA has written an article about the Bialystock Ghetto Revolt - We Are Still Here, that just like Reflections Of Courage has a powerful message. Reflections Of Courage directed by Janet Shay (a previous guest on L'Chaim- To Life) explores the themes of resilience, identity and belonging, celebrating the human spirit's capacity for renewal and the essence of being an Australian Jew, a powerful documentary reminder of history's impact and the enduring significance of compassion. Screening in Melbourne ay 2.30 pm on August 30th will be followed by an one hour Q & A with Eddy Boas and Janet Shay.
